A Step-by-Step Guide to Working with Us

Hiring a marketer to help you grow your business can be scary because you’re not quite sure what you’re going to get. This is a quick overview of the steps of working with us, so you know exactly what you can expect.

In this post, you’ll learn what it’s like to work with The Lane Collective, and get a sneak peak behind the scenes.

This post is a short one; the goal is really to provide a practical overview of the steps of actually working with us. Transparency is a core value for us; if you have more questions or want additional details, don’t hesitate to ask.

Here’s how it works:

  1. You request a free 30-minute intro call with me, Kinsey, the founder of The Lane Collective. My background is in content marketing and growth marketing; today, I serve as a fractional CMO for future-focused startups.

    • In this call, I’ll learn about your business and goals, and discuss a few potential options.

  2. After that call, we match you with an independent consultant (or team of consultants) and provide the software you need to communicate with them and keep everything transparent.

    • Sometimes, we need to start with strategy development, while in other cases, you’ll be ready to work directly with an expert on execution. We’ll figure all that out early in our conversations.

  3. You connect with that consultant, and discuss the project in more detail. They’ll provide a proposal to you.

  4. You hire the consultant directly, and have a one-to-one relationship with the freelancer. You’re not paying a bunch of agency overhead or a flaky freelancer.

    • TLC makes a small percentage on referrals within our freelancer network. There’s no membership fee to be a freelancer in The Lane Collective; the referral fee is all.

  5. The Lane Collective team remains available to provide additional guidance, support, access to other experts, and troubleshoot any issues.

And that’s it!

As the founder of TLC, I function as kind of a matchmaker for connecting clients with the perfect freelancers, and a behind-the-scenes manager to make sure that everything is running smoothly. I’m also a marketing consultant, so I do work with some clients (but not all).
