Hire a growth marketing advisor.

We’re proud to help companies grow from day one. That’s why our founder, Kinsey Wolf, offers growth advisory services to early stage tech startups.

Why bring on a growth advisor?

Founders sometimes ask me, “Why should I bring on a growth advisor?” Here’s my answer.

Hiring a growth advisor is a strategic move. Not every founder will choose to take this step, but it can help you get to the next level faster. Here’s why:

1. Tech startups operate in a landscape defined by change. A growth advisor brings in fresh, external perspectives grounded in extensive experience and industry knowledge. This helps in navigating market trends and capitalizing on new opportunities efficiently.

2. Growth advisors can help you refine your startup's marketing and sales strategies. By leveraging their expertise, early stage companies can optimize their marketing spend, improve customer acquisition strategies, and streamline sales processes. This directly aligns with my commitment to minimalism and simplicity, ensuring that resources are used to maximum impact.

3. A growth advisor can play a crucial role in helping you scale. They provide insights into operational scalability, sustainable growth models, and key performance indicators.

4. Startups often need to make critical decisions with limited data. A growth advisor, with their experience, can help mitigate risks associated with these decisions. That’s because they probably have years of qualitative and quantitative data at their fingertips. Opinions are good. Data is better.

A growth advisor isn’t just a consultant; they’re partners in a startup's journey towards sustainable and efficient growth.

When you hire a growth advisor, if you choose to, is completely up to you. I usually recommend it when you’re making key marketing or sales decisions and you feel like you could use an expert on speed dial.

I work with select tech startups as a strategic advisor focused on growth. If you’re interested, let’s chat.

FAQs

What is a growth advisor?

A Growth Advisor is a strategic consultant specializing in guiding startups and businesses through the intricacies of sustainable and efficient growth. Their expertise lies in identifying and capitalizing on market opportunities, optimizing marketing and sales strategies, identifying KPIs, and advising on scalability. They often function as a sounding board for founders and leadership teams, providing guidance on key decisions and insights that fuel growth.

Do growth advisors provide execution or deliverables?

Probably not in the way you’re thinking. A strategic advisor may look at your materials and provide edits, offer guidance on what metrics to track and how to measure them most effectively, or offer guidance on the best marketing and sales tactics for your business. They are not building your marketing strategy or creating social media posts.

How do growth advisor agreements work?

Most advisory agreements are paid, either in cash or in equity. Sometimes a blend of both! (We don’t offer free advisory services.)

This typically involves a set number of hours of advisory support per month. When equity is involved, there’s usually a vesting cliff. This is a good example of an advisory agreement.

What can I expect from a growth advisor?
